I got my 1st taste of the real Atlanta hip hop community, when I went down for the "B-Girl Fest" Mojo Swagger was throwing. After that point I was HOOKED! The music was crazy. Performances just on another level. Showed me that ladies are still putting it down on the hip hop scene. I was able to return on several other occasions and the men hold it down. And it wasn't this snap and pop crunk sound that Atlanta has been tagged with over the last few years. It was the classic hip hop that you can rock with whenever. Not just when your on your way to the club. So my speed. So when I caught word that a movie was being made featuring all the hottest underground acts in ATL. I just had to see for myself. Last Thursday I headed down to Atlanta for the A3C where they were showing the trailer to the movie "Pathways" starting Ozy Reigns, Rita J, Naira, Boog Brown, Adrift and so many more!!

Here’s a little something to keep the party going…. This is a track called Blue Skies that I recorded with a Detroit-based producer named Apollo Brown. (Thanks to the homie Magestik Legend for helping us connect on some music). This song is somewhat of a breakup anthem for those people in troubled relationships or marriages. The song isn’t really about my own relationship but moreso written from the standpoint of people close to me. It’s about being with someone who seemed perfect in the beginning but somewhere down the line they just got too comfortable and became a huge disappointment in your eyes. I think we’ve all been in situations like that where after months or years, it doesn’t feel like you know the other person anymore. Its about trying to save face and not letting the outside world know you’re have trouble at home.

This song was recorded a few weeks after I finished Splitting Image so that’s the sole reason why it isn’t included. Other than that, it would have been perfect for the album. Me and Apollo Brown are working on more music as we speak. I even included a clean version for the DJ’s.

R.I.P. Baatin of Slum Village

Baatin, along with J Dilla and T3, was a founding member of Slum Village. The groups released two albums, 1997's Fan-Tas-Tic (Vol. 1), and 2000's Fantastic, Vol. 2 (2000).

When Dilla left the group in 2002 in pursuit of a solo career (and was subsequently relpaced by Detroit rapper Elzhi), Baatin followed in suit prior to the release of Slum Village's 2004 releae Detroit Deli. Baatin reportedly left due to undisclosed medical issues.

1st I have to thank him for allowing me to be apart of something so big. I love events like this because it brings out alllllll of the whose who in Carolina Hip Hop... Which is like my 2nd fam. So we just get together and cut up! & enjoy good music. I promise if I didn't know these great and talented people. I would have no hope for the future of hip hop. But I know that a change is coming... And we are going to make it happen.
I can't wait to see the video drop on MTV2 in the next few weeks. The special guest were bonkers everyone from Camp Lo, Kam Moye, Mattic from Wax Tailor! I mean hell I still get a little starstruck! My Favortite CD Of 2009

Being in my position I get to hear a lot of music from a lot of different artist. Some good some SUCKS....
But there is nothing better then when I get to hear a cd. Not just a track but a whole CD I can listen to track for track and love love love love love it. Play it over and over again. Its very rare you can find a cd with that type of track quality! People no longer aim for a whole quality project. They really go more for that hit single.... And whatever is "ring tone" wrothy. Me i got for that classic ish. That cd like Lauryn Hill Miseducation. I don't even want to say how many times i brought that cd. Its time to bring CD's like that back. The classics. Ciara would be a force to fuck with if she had the right team behind her! I will be the 1st to admit I thought she was a one hit wonder when she 1st dropped. But I've watched her grow into 1 hell of a artist. I'm just mad that musically it seems to me, her support team lacks. She's not getting super tracks. Rather its her picking them or her team. Some1 should help her. That track love sex & magic seemed forced on the music world! I personally couldn't stand it! & no its not 1 of those songs I will like in a year or so.
