Here’s a little something to keep the party going…. This is a track called Blue Skies that I recorded with a Detroit-based producer named Apollo Brown. (Thanks to the homie Magestik Legend for helping us connect on some music). This song is somewhat of a breakup anthem for those people in troubled relationships or marriages. The song isn’t really about my own relationship but moreso written from the standpoint of people close to me. It’s about being with someone who seemed perfect in the beginning but somewhere down the line they just got too comfortable and became a huge disappointment in your eyes. I think we’ve all been in situations like that where after months or years, it doesn’t feel like you know the other person anymore. Its about trying to save face and not letting the outside world know you’re have trouble at home.
This song was recorded a few weeks after I finished Splitting Image so that’s the sole reason why it isn’t included. Other than that, it would have been perfect for the album. Me and Apollo Brown are working on more music as we speak. I even included a clean version for the DJ’s.
